On Thursday people started to gather in Wenatchee for the 2010 PNCUCC Annual Meeting. Ministerial Boundary training was offered on Thursday and it was a sold out session led by Marie Fortune and Tara Barber. This training is required for all ministers every 3 years if they intend to maintain their standing in the Conference. Reports are that the training was well done with appropriate serious attention to the topic, balanced by some good humor.
The Committee on Ministry that works to support pastors in active ministry and also approves ministers for standing met on Thursday night over dinner.
This morning, the current Board of Directors meets starting at 9 AM. Elections for the new Board will happen on Saturday and the new Board will hold their first meeting over Breakfast Sunday.
Here is the Full Agenda that begins with the first Plenary Session today at 3 PM.
Every three years seems a bit much, considering the redundancy of the materials and the expense to congregations. Perhaps a broadening of the term "boundaries" can include anti-racism, etc.?
