This morning I went over for the third straight day to get coffee at The Powerhouse Coffee Company by the Comfort Inn on Wenatchee Ave. I get a Latte for me and an Americano for Andy. This morning the man in the window engaged me this way:
Powerhouse Coffee Guy: "Are you with that Conference down the road?"
Me: Yes
PCG: "What group?"
Me: "Pacific Northwest Conference United Church of Christ"
PCG: "I used to be in the ministry - Lutheran"
Me: "Some of my best friends are Lutherans"
PCG: (with a friendly look into my eyes) "Some of my best friends are United Church of Christ. Is this your last day?"
Me: "Yes, we have our closing worship at 10 AM"
PCG: (handing me my coffee) "Have a nice closing service"
What a nice Sunday morning conversation. What nice conversations have you had this weekend.
