On the Grid 24/7

I'm sitting in the second row behind all the youth and we're here at the On The Grid 24/7 workshop - facilitated by David Domke!

We've opened up conversation on what it means to be on the grid 24/7 and why its important to us - and on the flip side, what are the concerns? what are the questions?

This is an AMAZING opportunity to hear from different folks of all ages about their relationships with technology! Some folks love to be on facebook or text out to know they are connected. Some folks really don't have cell phones or don't feel the need to be on facebook.

For me, I think what I'm amazed at is what I feel the bottom line is:  being connected.
Everyone has different ways of connecting. Some like the face to face, sit down and talk. Others like to be in activity with each other - running, cycling, camping, etc... Others like the convenience of texting, emailing or being on facebook.

I am grateful to know that all ways of connecting are ok! and that the many different options we have in technology and not, allows us to find the ways we connect the best.

By letting go of judgments of the "other" or the "unknown" allows for a wonderfully open conversation! and allows for us to know each other in new ways. it allows us to conenct!

David says: "nothing helps us better to understand what's going on in technology, is to hear from each other". He asks "how are meaningful relationships formed?"
1. meaning is created through that deep human communication - speaking, hearing, etc... communications.
2. meaning is also created through these other ways - technology based.

Generational change comes from people being raised with different assumptions.

THANKS DAVID for helping facilitate a great conversation!
