Another Motion on the Floor

Following the budget conversation earlier today...the conversation started and now a motion has been brought forward for all full audit of Conference finances.  The Board of Directors has not ordered an Audit or Management Review until in many years.

There was a motion to table to next year which needed a 2/3 majority...it failed.  It is good business practice to do this but it is not cheap so there is a debate on the floor over the value of this vs. the cost.  Some wondered why we don't trust our staff.  Also, some don't want to vote on this without knowing the cost.  Michelle, our bookkeeper for the Conference estimates $5,000-$10,000.

An amendment was offered to give the Board of Directors discretion to schedule the Management Review either this year or next year...whichever is most financially feasible.  The Amendment  passed 63-52.  Now we are voting on the main motion as amended.

The Motion passed almost unanimous.
