I don't know if you can love a denomination. I do know that the United Church of Christ has inched me toward understanding the unconditional love of God. We must be free to respond to love! We must be free to take our own path to seek truth! We must not allow any human person or group to narrowly define God or determine God's judgments. The UCC has helped me see these possibilities. Such a rich perspective the UCC has brought to me. Thank you to the UCC for expanding the dimensions to my life's journey.
Well put Jim....
ReplyDelete"That they may all be one" Is not just a statement, it is matter of love, a love that connects all things at a level beyound our own ego....
Let us remind ourselves often that life is bigger than just us, and though we matter, so does all and everyone else....
Let us great everything with an open heart and mind, even when difference doese exist....
Dear UCC-ers gathered in Spokane.
ReplyDeleteI had hoped to have been there in your midst but my weakened immune system put out the welcome mat for a sinus infection. So, rather then subject any of you to that I opted to stay home. Global Ministries has some great plans for the conference and I'm sorry not to be there to vote. I was also looking forward to the historical walk on the water.
Wish Bill Stanley a happy birthday for me and the other Eastgaters who are on this side of the mountains.

Do I love the UCC? YES.
ReplyDeleteThe UCC gives me permission, encouragement, and resources to continue my life-long spiritual journey, no matter where it leads. The community of fellow seekers has given me confidence and power for a difficult thing - to do what I can do.
